Interior Doors
Interior doors are used between bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, corridors, storage rooms, and other indoor spaces. Because they are protected by the building, they usually face less rain, sunlight, temperature change, and security pressure.
Their main functions are privacy, room separation, sound control, and interior decoration. Many interior doors can therefore use lighter frames and simpler locking hardware.
This does not mean all interior doors are the same. A hotel-room door, bathroom door, office door, and fire-compartment door have different requirements. The term only identifies the door’s position within the building.
Exterior Doors
Exterior doors stand between the building and the outdoor environment. Front doors, side entrances, patio access doors, and service entrances all belong to this group.
They must deal with more demanding conditions:

Heavier locks and hardware

Even when an interior and exterior door share the same dimensions, their internal structures may be completely different.
