How To Weather Proof Bifold Entrance Doors?

Start by Finding the Source of the Leak

You can also move a piece of tissue slowly around the frame on a windy day. If it moves near a joint, that section may be allowing a draft. Water marks near the lower corners often point to blocked drainage holes, an unsuitable threshold, or incorrect frame alignment.

Do not seal over designed drainage or weep holes. These openings allow rainwater collected in the track to escape. Blocking them may temporarily hide a draft but can cause water to accumulate and enter the building later.

The locking system is equally important. Multiple locking points distribute pressure along the edge of the door and help the seals remain engaged. If the handle is unusually difficult to operate, do not force it. The panels may be misaligned, and additional force can damage the lock.

After adjustment, every panel should fold smoothly, meet the next panel evenly, and close without excessive pressure.
